The frosty white predator has been patiently waiting on the birch tree trunk for the last two days, observing the barren landscape, picking up the slightest movement beneath the eight-inch deep snow. The snowy owl must find her prey or death will come her way. The wintry landscape is a harsh place for both the predator and the prey. For today, the discreet white mouse is safe under the thick white blanket of snow, munching on its hard-earned berries all through the year. Meanwhile, the restless squirrel munching on an acorn, occasionally sticking her head out of the tree hole, scanning the desolate, icy landscape. The fragile yet fierce Arctic fox courted the squirrel as it was feasting on the acorn. Completely oblivious to the situation, she continued to nibble on it as the fox plotted its every move, waiting for the right moment to make her move.
